21 Banks: Pledge 2027 USD Stablecoin Launch

Bank of America, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and UBS joined eighteen other institutions in a 1 September commitment to incorporate a joint venture during the second half of 2026 that will issue a USD stablecoin targeting first-half 2027 market entry, according to Santander's announcement. The entity does not yet exist and remains subject to closing conditions.
