Analysis

Bitget confirmed a hot wallet breach that drained ETH, XRP (largest single-chain loss), BNB, AVAX, USDT and USDC across Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BSC and Base. All cold wallets stayed untouched. IP traces and on-chain patterns align with known North Korean hacker tactics, prompting reports to global authorities. The Bitget Wallet decentralized product runs separately and remains fully secure. The exchange holds a $464 million protection fund plus over $1 billion in proprietary assets, with user balances covered 1:1 and verifiable on-chain. Withdrawals will resume once full recovery is confirmed.
