SourceAnalysis
Brett Harrison released a detailed market map of the emerging US compute derivatives sector, outlining three core participant groups now preparing for CFTC-approved futures on GPU capacity.
CFTC-Regulated DCMs
American Innovation Exchange, CME and ICE Futures US are the primary designated contract markets. American Innovation Exchange acquired a DCM this year to list the first AI-dedicated compute futures using Compute Desk indices. CME secured an exclusive deal with Silicon Data while ICE partnered with Ornn; both plan launches pending regulatory review.
Index Providers and Spot Platforms
Independent calculators including Compute Desk, Silicon Data, Ornn and SemiAnalysis are constructing IOSCO-compliant benchmarks from rental and private transaction data. Spot marketplaces such as Vast.ai, RunPod and Akash Network supply raw pricing feeds and aggregate physical supply ahead of physically-settled contracts.
