OKX: Secures EU's First MiCA Licence
OKX becomes first EU firm with MiCA licence after eight years of European investment, offering EUR ramps, Mastercard payments and AI agents.
SourceAnalysis
OKX secured the European Union's first MiCA licence on 1 July 2026, capping eight years of regulatory work that began in 2018 and now covers the widest set of crypto services permitted under the framework. The exchange has rolled out EUR on-ramp and off-ramp rails, zero-fee stablecoin transfers via the Mastercard network, hundreds of spot pairs and a full suite of crypto, commodity and equity derivatives while launching an AI-native Agentic infrastructure for platform interaction. Continuous Proof of Reserves published for more than 40 months and Big Four audited group accounts underpin the compliance culture that regulators demanded during repeated scrutiny rounds.
