ETH Price Prediction: Bulls Face Overhead Supply After a Modest Bounce

What happened and why it matters

Ethereum is trading at $2,246.33, with a 24-hour range of $2,210.00 to $2,254.26 and Binance spot volume of $416.3 million. The move higher on the day is real, but the price is still sitting below the 7-day SMA at $2,278.71, the 12-day EMA at $2,292.74, the 20-day SMA at $2,326.82 and the 26-day EMA at $2,351.50. That leaves ETH under the cluster of short-term trend levels that usually need to be reclaimed before buyers can claim control.

The broader structure is still mixed rather than clearly bullish. The 200-day SMA at $2,157.27 is below spot, which shows ETH has not broken down into a deeper trend shift, but the 50-day SMA at $2,493.37 is still overhead and acts as the next major barrier. In other words, the market is between two regimes: above longer-term support, but not yet back above the short-term averages that would confirm sustained recovery.

Technical picture: improving, but not yet confirmed

The indicators lean toward a market that is stabilizing without fully repairing the damage. The daily RSI is 40.25, which sits in neutral territory but closer to the weak side of the range. MACD remains negative at -58.7611, and the histogram is essentially flat at -0.0000, so momentum is still subdued rather than decisively turning higher.

The Bollinger setup tells the same story. ETH is below the middle band at $2,326.82, with %B at 0.2323, while the lower band sits at $2,176.50 and the upper band at $2,477.13. That places price in the lower portion of the band structure, which is consistent with a market that can bounce, but has not yet proved that the bounce can extend. Stochastic readings, with %K at 26.19 and %D at 20.95, also point to a market that is trying to recover from a weak stretch rather than one already in a strong upswing.

The key takeaway from these indicators is not a single directional signal, but a simple hierarchy: ETH has moved off the lows, yet it still needs follow-through above the nearby average and resistance cluster before the rebound can be treated as more than a short-term recovery attempt.

Levels that define the next move

The closest decision zone is tight. Immediate resistance is $2,263.73, followed by stronger resistance at $2,281.12. On the downside, immediate support sits at $2,219.47 and stronger support at $2,192.60, with the pivot point at $2,236.86 almost exactly around current price. That setup suggests the market is still in a narrow balance area, where a small move can decide whether the bounce continues or fades back into the lower support band.

The 14-day ATR is $86.12, which shows that ETH still has room to move quickly if one of these levels gives way. The ATR does not point to direction on its own, but it does suggest that a clean break above resistance or below support could expand faster than traders expect.

Derivatives: Binance positioning leans long, but not without caution

The Binance futures data shows a market that is long-leaning, but not uniformly confident. Funding is 0.0098% on an 8-hour basis, which is mildly positive and means longs are paying shorts a small amount. By itself, that does not prove crowding, but it does show that the market is not tilted toward aggressive short pressure in funding terms.

Open interest offers a more cautious read. Real-time open interest stands at 2,379,878.67 contracts, with an open interest value of $5.19 billion, but the 24-hour change is -2.74%. That combination matters because falling open interest during a modest price recovery often suggests leverage is being reduced rather than added. It can support a bounce, but it does not yet show fresh conviction building aggressively behind the move.

The long/short ratios confirm that Binance accounts are leaning to the upside. The Binance global accounts ratio is 3.7393, with 78.9% long and 21.1% short, while top-trader accounts show a similar split at 3.6468, with 78.5% long and 21.5% short. These figures describe Binance cohorts only, not the broader market, but they do show that futures traders on the platform are positioned in a way that could benefit if spot price reclaims overhead resistance.

There is also a short-term counterweight. The 1-hour taker buy/sell ratio is 0.6260, with buy volume of 6,999 against sell volume of 11,180. That points to more aggressive selling than buying in the most recent window, which helps explain why the long-heavy positioning has not yet turned into a cleaner upside push.

Analyst view in the reported data

Alejandro Arrieche of FXEmpire said on November 5, 2026 that the nearest and most likely target, if the bullish case plays out, would be $2,800, followed by a move above $3,000 if ETH can break that psychological barrier. This is a conditional market view, not a confirmed forecast, and it depends on price first clearing the resistance structure that currently sits above spot.

What would weaken the rebound case

The recovery case loses strength if ETH fails to reclaim the $2,263.73 to $2,281.12 resistance zone and then hold above the 20-day SMA at $2,326.82. If price cannot do that, the chart remains below the midline of the Bollinger structure and vulnerable to a move back toward $2,219.47 and $2,192.60.

A stronger recovery would require ETH to move through the nearby resistance band, regain the short-term averages, and show that the recent bounce is more than a temporary lift. Until that happens, the evidence points to a market that is stabilizing, but not yet trend-confirmed.
