AvengerDAO Expands Security Tools for BNB Chain Projects

AvengerDAO introduces a security marketplace, updated standards, and an enhanced bug bounty program to bolster safety for BNB Chain projects.
AvengerDAO, a Web3 security initiative backed by BNB Chain, has launched a revamped suite of tools aimed at making blockchain safety more accessible. The update includes a new security marketplace, a comprehensive five-pillar security standard (BNB-SS), and an expanded bug bounty program. These initiatives are designed to democratize access to expert security services for all BNB Chain projects, regardless of budget or prior connections.
Since its inception in September 2022, AvengerDAO has served as a critical line of defense for the BNB Chain ecosystem. Its tools, such as the risk-scoring Meter API, have flagged over 35,000 high-risk contracts and issued 38 million risk warnings across platforms like Trust Wallet and PancakeSwap in 2023 alone. This proactive approach helped recover $7.3 million from security incidents that year.
Why It Matters
BNB Chain has seen a consistent reduction in security-related losses over the past three years, a trend largely attributed to AvengerDAO’s efforts. Losses dropped 85% in 2023, followed by 69% in 2024, and another 56% in 2025. The enhanced tools aim to sustain this progress by providing a standardized framework and direct access to vetted security firms.
The new Security Marketplace brings together 11 leading Web3 security firms, handpicked by the BNB Chain security team. Builders can compare services, contact firms directly, or seek guidance from AvengerDAO’s admin team. Notably, no application process is required, lowering barriers for smaller projects.
Key Upgrades: Three Pillars of Protection
The updated framework centers on three pillars:
- Security Marketplace: A centralized directory of vetted security firms offering tools and services tailored to BNB Chain projects.
- BNB-SS: A standardized checklist covering governance, access control, oracle integrations, secure development, and bridge security. Projects passing compliance reviews receive a BNB-SS badge, signaling adherence to robust security practices.
- Bug Bounty Program: An incentive-driven system for researchers to report vulnerabilities post-launch, ensuring ongoing security audits.
For users, the BNB-SS badge provides a visible marker of a project’s adherence to high security standards. While not a guarantee of safety, it’s a clear signal that a project’s contracts, admin keys, and governance have been reviewed against a recognized framework.
Broader Context
AvengerDAO’s expansion reflects a growing emphasis on preventative security measures in the Web3 space. Rug pulls, phishing schemes, and malicious smart contracts have plagued the industry, eroding user trust. By offering a structured, transparent approach to security, AvengerDAO aims to set a new standard for blockchain safety.
These upgrades align with broader efforts by BNB Chain to protect users. Initiatives like DappBay’s Red Alarm and risk-scanning tools complement AvengerDAO’s offerings, creating a multi-layered defense system for the ecosystem.
What’s Next
AvengerDAO plans to introduce a pre-launch security review service in the near future. For now, the focus remains on rolling out the marketplace and BNB-SS standards. Builders can access the full partner list and compliance checklist via AvengerDAO’s website.
By simplifying access to security expertise and establishing clear benchmarks, AvengerDAO’s enhancements could further reduce risks for BNB Chain projects, benefiting both developers and users. While no system can eliminate all threats, this initiative raises the bar for what blockchain projects can and should deliver in terms of safety.
