The BNB Chain ecosystem has once again showcased its dynamism with a slew of updates from October 30 to November 5. This week, the network reported significant activity across various domains, including DeFi, AI, and decentralized social networks (DeSoc), according to the BNB Chain blog.
Key Metrics and Activity
In the past week, the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) recorded an impressive 2,641,608 average daily active users (DAU), while opBNB saw 1,948,776 DAU. Transaction volumes were equally robust, with BSC processing 135,644,196 transactions and opBNB handling 36,429,227 transactions. The total trading volume across the platform reached $81.7 billion, and the total value locked (TVL) was reported at $12.151 billion as of October 29.
New Projects and Innovations
The BNB Chain continues to foster innovation with several new projects. Notable among them is XID, an infrastructure project that enables users to transform their X handles into Web3 identities for instant payments. In the DeFi space, PunkCoffee offers a unique prediction market experience where users can create markets and wager with others. Aaron Academy, focusing on AI, provides a platform for creating lessons and earning points, contributing to the Web3 education community. Additionally, SafuVerse is pushing the boundaries of learning and earning within the blockchain ecosystem.
Ecosystem Developments
BNB Chain's ecosystem initiatives continue to expand. During the Local Hack Buenos Aires, developers were offered mentorship and funding opportunities. Following this, Demo Night Buenos Aires will highlight emerging projects in the region. Furthermore, DMZ Finance introduced QCDT, a tokenized money market fund, powered by Qatar National Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and DMZ’s RWA infrastructure.
In a move to enhance transparency, Web3 investigator ZachXBT has joined the BNB Chain community. Additionally, the Fermi Testnet Hardfork was released, reducing block time to 450ms, and community members are encouraged to participate in stress tests. The x402 team also discussed building AI applications on BNB Chain during a recent livestream.
Another notable update includes the extension of the 0 Fee Carnival for USD1 and USDC transfers until November 30, allowing users to transfer stablecoins without gas fees using wallets such as Trust Wallet and SafePal.
