BNB Chain, in collaboration with YZi Labs, is set to host a local hackathon in Buenos Aires, as part of its BNB Hack Local Series. This event aims to gather developers, founders, and innovators from across Latin America and beyond, offering a platform for creativity and technological advancement in the Web3 space, according to BNB Chain.
Pre-Hackathon Activities
Participants are given the chance to engage in online pre-hackathon sessions from November 12 to 14, three days before the main event. These sessions are designed to help teams form, ideas to be refined, and provide mentorship from BNB Chain’s tech and business development teams. The main hackathon is scheduled for November 15-16 in Buenos Aires, where participants will collaborate in person to transform their ideas into working products.
Key Dates and Events
The timeline for the hackathon starts with the registration deadline on November 10, followed by acceptance and onboarding for selected teams on November 11. After the online sessions, the onsite hacking will take place on November 15-16, culminating in a Demo Day on November 16, where standout projects will have the opportunity to present at the BNB Chain Demo Night during DevConnect.
Prizes and Tracks
Participants will compete for a share of $160,000 in prizes across eight innovation tracks including Trading, Real World Assets (RWA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Decentralized Science (DeSci), Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Payments, Wallets, and a Regional Impact Track focusing on Latin American priorities and trends. These tracks are intended to foster innovation in key areas of the Web3 ecosystem.
Resources and Support
BNB Chain is providing a range of resources to support participants, including a curated developer portal, quick start guides, and access to technical tools like BSC Faucet, opBNB, and Greenfield. This support is designed to enhance creativity and project development throughout the hackathon.
Partnership Opportunities
In addition to the hackathon, BNB Chain and YZi Labs are inviting select universities, incubators, and developer communities to join as regional partners in the local hack series, further strengthening the collaborative spirit of the event.
The hackathon represents a significant opportunity for developers to engage with the BNB Chain ecosystem, gain mentorship, and potentially access long-term support through programs like MVB, Kickstart, and the $1 billion Builder Fund. Interested parties can apply for pre-hackathon activities and partnership opportunities, positioning themselves at the forefront of Web3 innovation in Buenos Aires.
