Previously, Claude in a Slack channel could only use shared connectors set up by admins. These were typically limited to organization-approved tools to maintain governance. With this update, users can connect their own tools to Claude, giving them more flexibility to pull in data relevant to their specific tasks. For instance, a user can now ask Claude to compare a personal Google Drive document with GitHub updates, all within a channel, without exposing sensitive information to others.
How It Works
When a user makes a request requiring a personal connector, Claude prompts them for access on first use. On Enterprise plans, admins can enforce review requirements for all users to maintain tighter oversight.
