Flipsnack boosts signups by 310% with ChatGPT Ads conversion optimization

Flipsnack, an online publishing platform specializing in interactive digital flipbooks, reported significant growth in product signups following the optimization of its ChatGPT Ads campaigns. According to a case study published on November 5, 2026, Flipsnack achieved a 310% increase in registrations and a 75% reduction in cost per signup by shifting its campaign focus to conversion optimization.

Campaign strategy and results

Flipsnack transitioned from a clicks-based objective with fixed bids to a conversions-based objective with bidding set to maximize conversions. The changes were implemented across five U.S. campaign pairs targeting specific use cases such as magazines, catalogs, brochures, sales enablement, and real estate. Data from Flipsnack’s ChatGPT Ads Manager showed that between August 25–31 and September 2–8, 2026, registrations surged while maintaining the same daily budget limits. Actual spending increased by approximately 1.3%, and attribution was based on a 30-day click window, excluding view-through conversions.

Paul Romancsak, Flipsnack’s Paid Advertising Manager, noted that the improved performance gave the team confidence to prioritize conversion optimization in their advertising strategy. The results, however, were advertiser-reported and not independently audited. Additionally, the case study did not disclose absolute signup numbers, dollar-denominated acquisition costs, or subsequent paid-customer conversion rates.

Broader context

Flipsnack’s success with ChatGPT Ads follows OpenAI’s rollout of key advertising tools earlier in 2026. On February 9, OpenAI began testing ChatGPT Ads for logged-in adult Free and Go users in the U.S., and on May 5, it introduced a beta self-serve Ads Manager with cost-per-click bidding and expanded measurement tools. These developments provided advertisers like Flipsnack with enhanced capabilities to refine their campaigns and measure performance more effectively.

While the reported improvements highlight the potential of conversion-focused advertising, the case study does not establish revenue gains or superiority over other channels. For marketers, the significance lies in Flipsnack’s ability to drive product-trial registrations at a reduced cost, demonstrating the value of optimizing campaign objectives and bidding strategies.
