Meridian's Dev Underground: A Hub for Innovation

At the recent Stellar (XLM) Meridian event, the Dev Underground became a focal point for developers eager to showcase their projects. This unique platform allowed builders to engage in a relaxed yet dynamic environment, fostering networking and collaboration among participants, according to Stellar.

Innovative Projects Take the Stage

The second day of the event kicked off with Bastian, a well-known figure in the Stellar community, sharing his latest project. Following him, Alejo, a long-time Stellar builder, introduced Skyhitz, an app designed to connect musical artists directly with fans, eliminating traditional intermediaries.

Another highlight was David Nandwa's presentation of HoneyCoin. This project is notable for being the first in Africa to incorporate MoneyGram as an on/off ramp, marking a significant advancement in the region's financial technology landscape.

Continued Momentum for Emerging Projects

Gemma efficiently managed the proceedings, ensuring a seamless transition between presentations. One standout project was RampMeDaddy, which facilitates global crypto payments via Telegram. The team, new to Stellar, has achieved significant milestones, including participation in the Stellar Kickstart and DraperU programs.

Engagement and Entertainment

Adding a touch of entertainment, the event featured a fun segment with Chad Ostrowski and Willem Wyndham of Aha Labs. The duo participated in a playful game that tested their knowledge of each other, providing a light-hearted break from the technical presentations.

Focus on Stellar's Future

Post-lunch sessions included a presentation by Tommaso De Ponti, known as Tdep, from xyclooLabs. He introduced Mercury's new feature, Retroshades, which empowers users to create customized cloud indexers. Tdep's commitment to the Stellar network is evident, as he is among the few community members to have authored an accepted Core Advancement Proposal.

The Meridian event underscored Stellar's vibrant developer community, showcasing a range of innovative projects poised to advance the blockchain ecosystem.
