Telegram Introduces Live Stories and Auctions for Digital Gifts

Telegram has unveiled a series of new features in its latest update, significantly enhancing the way users interact on the platform. Among the new additions are live streams with interactive chats, repeating scheduled messages, and a novel auction system for digital gifts, according to Telegram.

Live Stories for Real-Time Engagement

Telegram users can now host live streams within Telegram Stories, offering a dynamic way to share experiences in real-time. This feature allows viewers to send comments during the stream, similar to group calls and video chats. To support content creators, viewers can highlight and pin their comments using Telegram Stars, a feature designed to enhance interaction.

Live Stories can be initiated from personal accounts, as well as from groups and channels that have unlocked the Stories feature through boosts. Privacy settings for these streams mirror those of regular stories, providing options such as Everyone, My Contacts, Close Friends, and Selected Users.

Enhanced Functionality with Repeated Messages

The update introduces the ability to set scheduled messages and reminders to repeat at specified intervals, such as daily or twice per month. This feature aims to automate routine tasks and help users develop healthy habits. To schedule a message, users simply press and hold the Send arrow in any chat, then select Repeat and choose the desired interval.

Digital Gift Auctions for Fair Distribution

Telegram's new auction system for digital gifts aims to ensure fair distribution by allowing users to place bids with Stars over several rounds. This system determines the unique number of each gift, with the top bidder in the first round receiving the #1 gift. Subsequent bidders receive gifts in order of their bid ranking.

Users can participate multiple times, increasing their chances of winning by raising their bids. The platform automatically carries over lower bids to subsequent rounds and refunds any remaining bids once all gifts are awarded.

Interface Redesigns

The update also brings fresh interface designs to Telegram's mobile apps. For iOS, new Liquid Glass interfaces include redesigned profiles and an updated settings menu with energy-efficient animations. The Android app features a new minimalist input field with blur effects that enhance the user experience.

These updates reflect Telegram's ongoing commitment to improving user engagement and content creation on its platform. As digital communication evolves, Telegram continues to innovate, providing users with tools that enhance interaction and community building.
