Ukraine partners with ElevenLabs to incorporate AI voice technology into its public services, enhancing accessibility and innovation in digital communication.
In a significant move towards digital transformation, Ukraine has announced a partnership with ElevenLabs, a leader in voice AI technology, to integrate advanced voice interfaces into its public services. This initiative, revealed by Mykhailo Fedorov, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, at the IT Arena conference, aims to simplify interactions between citizens and the government.
Transforming Digital Communication
The collaboration seeks to revolutionize how Ukrainians interact with public services by making them more accessible through voice commands. Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that this partnership would facilitate a shift towards an agentic state, where government interactions can be as straightforward as a voice message. He noted, "Our partnership with ElevenLabs, a world leader in voice technology, gives our digital services a human voice and makes them more accessible to everyone."
Innovative Applications in Public Services
The initial application of ElevenLabs' technology was demonstrated through a digital twin of Mykhailo Fedorov, functioning as a chatbot that recognizes and responds to voice messages. This technology is set to expand into other public services, including the Diia portal and application, allowing citizens to voice their requests seamlessly.
ElevenLabs' CEO, Mati Staniszewski, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "Together with Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, we’re adding a clear human voice to digital services." The goal is to enhance the speed and accessibility of public services, aligning with Ukraine's commitment to digital innovation.
Future Prospects and Educational Impact
The integration of voice AI will extend to educational platforms, with plans to incorporate voice functionality into state educational applications. This move aims to drive innovation and improve user engagement in educational initiatives.
Additionally, voice capabilities will be added to the Ministry’s internal tools, including AI assistants for onboarding processes and HR teams. These advancements underscore Ukraine's dedication to setting a benchmark for digital nations globally, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance public service delivery.
