SpaceX announced a $40 billion master finance lease for GPUs and related equipment with an entity managed by Apollo Global Management on October 26 2026 according to a post by Sawyer Merritt on X.

The lease will deliver next-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin chips for SpaceX's terrestrial compute buildout as part of plans to create the largest compute infrastructure in the world and support a Super Intelligence future with less than one year payback periods on infrastructure investments.

The transaction led by Apollo and Goldman Sachs as sole structuring agent is subject to closing conditions and expected to close prior to year-end 2026 with lease schedules commencing upon GPU delivery in the first half of 2027 according to the same post.

SpaceX CFO Bret Johnsen stated the financing diversifies funding sources and addresses growth plans to deliver additional compute online at record speeds for Grok enterprise and consumer applications as well as existing and future cloud services customers.
