What happened and why it matters
NVIDIA’s publicly traded shares were the subject of a November 2, 2026 note from Melius Research, which reiterated a Buy rating and lowered its price target to $315. The stated reason was valuation pressure and the substantial securities issuance needed to finance the AI infrastructure buildout. That view applies to NVIDIA Corporation’s stock, not to a separately rated product.
On Binance Futures, the NVDA contract finished the latest 24-hour period at $208.37, up 2.21%, after trading between $201.88 and $211.34 on volume of $317,423,023. The contract is holding above the pivot point at $207.20 and above the 7-day simple moving average at $206.76, but it remains below the 20-day average at $212.41 and the 200-day average at $214.10. In practical terms, price has recovered from the lower part of the range, but it has not yet cleared the levels that would show stronger trend repair.
Technical structure: recovery, but not confirmation
The chart is not showing a clean breakout. The 12-day exponential moving average sits at $209.88, just above the current price, while the 26-day EMA is higher at $214.43. The 20-day Bollinger middle band matches the 20-day SMA at $212.41, and the contract is still below it. RSI is 40.64, which keeps momentum in a neutral zone rather than an overbought or oversold one. MACD is -4.5428, with the signal line also at -4.5428 and the histogram at 0.0000, pointing to momentum that is still weak rather than clearly improving.
The nearby levels supplied by Binance Futures frame the current range: - Immediate resistance: $212.51 - Strong resistance: $216.66 - Pivot point: $207.20 - Immediate support: $203.05 - Strong support: $197.74
The lower Bollinger band is $202.54, which sits close to immediate support at $203.05. That makes the $202 to $203 area the first important zone to watch on the downside. If that gives way, the next support marker is $197.74. On the upside, a move through $212.41 to $212.51 would be the first sign that the contract is attempting to regain a stronger position within the recent range.
Derivatives positioning: long-leaning, but not decisive on its own
Binance derivatives data shows a positive 8-hour funding rate of 0.0117%, which means longs are paying shorts. That is a sign of long-heavy positioning, but funding alone does not prove a durable bullish trend.
Open interest stands at 342,451.66 contracts, with a daily open interest value of $69,110,908 and a 24-hour change of -2.12%. That combination suggests participation remains substantial, but leverage has eased rather than expanded over the latest day.
The account-level ratios also lean long: - Binance global accounts: 76.0% long / 24.0% short, ratio 3.1719 - Binance top-trader accounts: 78.2% long / 21.8% short, ratio 3.5788 - Taker buy/sell ratio: 1.3163, with buy volume of 22,164 and sell volume of 16,838
Those figures describe Binance Futures cohorts, not retail-versus-institutional positioning and not underlying shareholder conviction. They do show that buying was more aggressive over the observed hour, but they do not by themselves establish the next direction of price.
The current read
The setup is mixed but readable. Price has pushed back above the pivot and the short-term average, which gives the contract a firmer base than it had at the lower end of the range. At the same time, it still sits below the 20-day and 200-day averages, with RSI neutral and MACD still negative. That leaves the market in a holding pattern: derivatives are tilted long, while the trend structure has not yet confirmed a fuller recovery.
If the contract can reclaim $212.41 and then $212.51, the next area to watch is $216.66. If it slips back below $203.05, the lower Bollinger band near $202.54 and then $197.74 become the next downside markers.
