What changed in the tape
NVDA closed the latest 24-hour observation at $199.73, down 4.14% from the prior reading, with the day’s range running from $211.37 to $197.29. Price is now sitting just above the lower Bollinger Band at $199.29 and below the 20-day middle band at $211.34, which shows the stock has moved to the lower edge of its recent volatility range rather than holding near the center.
The broader trend remains soft. NVDA is below its 7-day SMA at $204.23, the 20-day SMA at $211.34, the 50-day SMA at $221.28, and the 200-day SMA at $214.06. It is also below the 12-day EMA at $207.42 and the 26-day EMA at $212.86. Taken together, those levels show price is trading under layered overhead supply rather than reclaiming a short-term trend base.
Momentum is stretched, but not yet a reversal signal
The daily RSI of 32.75 sits near the lower end of the neutral zone. Stochastic readings are even weaker, with %K at 10.51 and %D at 8.40, which indicates the recent decline has pushed the stock into an oversold short-term zone.
That said, the momentum data still does not confirm a turn higher on its own. MACD is -5.4423, the signal line is also -5.4423, and the histogram is 0.0000, so the setup remains weak rather than showing a clean bullish crossover. In plain terms, NVDA is stretched enough to be vulnerable to a bounce, but the indicators do not yet show that the decline has been reversed.
Volume and volatility add context. Binance futures volume for the contract is $391.6 million, and ATR(14) is $5.85, which means price can move quickly once the market chooses a direction. That makes the nearby support levels more important than usual.
Scenario levels
If NVDA can reclaim the pivot at $202.80, the next test is the 7-day SMA at $204.23. A move through $208.30 would strengthen the case for a rebound toward the 20-day SMA at $211.34. If price instead loses $194.22, the next downside checkpoint is $188.72.
Scenario; Direction: long; Entry: $202.80; Stop: $194.22; Target: $208.30; Reward/risk: 0.64:1 (before fees, slippage and gaps).
Derivatives data should be read as contract data, not stock ownership
The Binance futures funding rate is 0.0291%, which means the funding mechanism currently favors shorts receiving payment from longs. That is a property of the futures contract, not a direct measure of stock investor sentiment.
The other Binance measures describe activity in Binance futures cohorts, not NVIDIA shareholders. The global long/short ratio is 3.7642, with Binance global accounts at 79.0% long and 21.0% short, while top-trader accounts show a ratio of 4.3220, with 81.2% long and 18.8% short. Those figures indicate the contract crowding visible on Binance, but they do not prove conviction in the underlying stock.
Open interest also slipped modestly. Real-time open interest is 360,523.42 contracts, the daily open interest value is $70.61 million, and the 24-hour change is -0.54%. That combination points to a small reduction in outstanding futures exposure rather than a fresh build in leverage.
The taker buy/sell ratio is 0.8304, with buy volume of 11,858 versus sell volume of 14,280. That is consistent with heavier aggressive selling in the observed 1-hour window, but it should be read only as futures contract flow on Binance, not as a direct statement about the equity market.
Analyst view
Ben Reitzes of Melius Research cut NVIDIA’s price target to $315 from $420 on November 2, 2026, while maintaining a Buy rating, according to TheStreet’s November 4 report. The stated reason was growing financing risks surrounding AI infrastructure expansion.
That analyst update is separate from the short-term price action. The target change is a longer-horizon valuation view, while the Binance futures data reflects near-term contract trading, leverage, and momentum.
What would change the setup
The current structure improves if NVDA can move back above $202.80 and then hold above $204.23. A stronger recovery would require reclaiming $208.30, with $211.34 then becoming the next key test.
If price loses $194.22, the market would shift attention to $188.72. That would keep the downside focus intact and make the current oversold readings less useful as a timing tool.
