Malta Officials Awarded Blockchain Scholarships to 19 Students

As reported by the Malta Independent, Silvio Schembri, Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation presented blockchain scholarship award to 19 students during the ongoing Malta AI & Blockchain Summit.
As reported by the Malta Independent, Silvio Schembri, Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation presented blockchain scholarship award to 19 students during the ongoing Malta AI & Blockchain Summit.
The blockchain scholarship worth a total of EUR 160,000, which is part of the EUR 351,000 scholarship fund established by Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) and the University of Malta in August 2018. All awardees will be reading for a Master’s degree in blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. Some of them can specialize blockchain-related studies in law, finance and ICT.
Schembri realized that Malta is looking at the fusion of traditional professions with emerging technologies like blockchain. He further added "These 19 awardees are a symbol of courage to embrace change and we definitely need more like them. I thank the University of Malta and MITA's future-looking mind-set and for their commitment in preparing future generations for the necessities of future industries, as well as the building blocks of Malta The Blockchain Island require everyone's involvement, from the ground up.”
