NVIDIA collaborates with European nations to build AI infrastructure, enhancing digital sovereignty and economic growth, positioning Europe as a leader in the AI industrial revolution.

NVIDIA has announced a strategic collaboration with European nations to establish a robust AI infrastructure, aiming to enhance digital sovereignty and stimulate economic growth across the continent. This initiative, unveiled at NVIDIA GTC Paris during VivaTech, seeks to position Europe at the forefront of the AI industrial revolution, according to NVIDIA Newsroom.
Strategic Collaborations Across Europe
France, Italy, Spain, and the UK are spearheading this initiative by building domestic AI infrastructure with partners like Domyn, Mistral AI, Nebius, and Nscale, alongside telecommunications giants including Orange, Swisscom, Telefónica, and Telenor. These collaborations aim to deploy over 3,000 exaflops of NVIDIA Blackwell compute resources dedicated to sovereign AI, enabling secure development and deployment of AI applications for enterprises, startups, and public sectors across Europe.
AI Technology Centers and Industrial Applications
NVIDIA is establishing AI technology centers in Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, the UK, and Finland. These centers will focus on advancing research, upskilling workforces, and accelerating scientific breakthroughs. In Germany, NVIDIA, alongside its partners, is constructing the world’s first industrial AI cloud to enhance manufacturing applications, leveraging NVIDIA DGX™ B200 systems and NVIDIA RTX PRO™ Servers.
Support from European Leaders
European leaders have expressed strong support for the initiative. French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the role of AI in strengthening the economy and supporting innovation. Similarly, UK Tech Secretary Peter Kyle highlighted NVIDIA’s expanded technology center as crucial for realizing the UK's AI ambitions. Italy’s Minister of Enterprise, Adolfo Urso, underscored the importance of this collaboration in enhancing Italy's technological sovereignty.
AI Infrastructure in Telecommunications
The initiative also includes partnerships with key European telecommunication providers to develop scalable AI infrastructure. Orange, Fastweb, Swisscom, Telefónica, and Telenor are working with NVIDIA to provide enterprises with the tools to develop and deploy customized AI models and applications. These efforts are expected to leverage the telcos’ extensive networks to deliver AI solutions securely and efficiently.
Future Prospects and Global Impact
This ambitious project is part of NVIDIA’s broader strategy to build AI infrastructure globally, which includes recent investments in Taiwan and the Middle East. By advancing AI capabilities in Europe, NVIDIA aims to foster a new wave of innovation and industrial transformation, setting a precedent for other regions to follow.
