Parasol partners with Jokers Inc. to bring SEGA-licensed CODE OF JOKER: EVOLUTIONS to the Sui blockchain, enhancing digital ownership and trading for gamers.
Parasol, an innovative platform designed to integrate blockchain infrastructure into gaming, has announced a significant partnership with Jokers Incorporated to bring the SEGA-licensed game, CODE OF JOKER: EVOLUTIONS, to the Sui blockchain. Bringing Classic Gaming to Blockchain
CODE OF JOKER: EVOLUTIONS is the latest installment in the CODE OF JOKER series, a digital trading card game originally launched by SEGA Corporation in 2013. The integration with Sui will allow players to digitally own, trade, and showcase their card collections, leveraging blockchain technology to enhance the gaming experience. The game is set to be released on iOS, Android, and Web platforms by the end of summer 2025.
Strategic Partnerships and Vision
Jokers Inc. co-founder Takashi “Gin” Mizouka expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting Sui’s unique capability to replicate the tactile experience of opening a new card pack in a digital format. Mizouka emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, noting Jokers’ existing licensing agreements with major Japanese character IPs, which will also transition to the Sui blockchain.
Evan Cheng, CEO and Co-Founder of Mysten Labs, the parent company of Parasol, emphasized the shared vision between Parasol and Jokers. He noted the transformative potential of blockchain in gaming and the role of gamers in embracing decentralized economies. Cheng described CODE OF JOKER: EVOLUTIONS as an ideal collaboration that bridges classic gaming IP with blockchain technology.
Expanding the Web3 Gaming Landscape
Kai Chen, CEO of Parasol, expressed gratitude for the support from Jokers Inc. and SEGA, underscoring the technical prowess of the Sui blockchain in supporting such endeavors. The Sui ecosystem continues to grow, with a commitment to integrating blockchain technology into gaming, as demonstrated by its support for various games, including independent AAA titles like XOCIETY.
Additionally, Mysten Labs is developing the SuiPlay0X1, a hardware device capable of playing both Web2 and Web3-powered games, in collaboration with Playtron OS. This initiative further underscores the Sui ecosystem’s dedication to advancing blockchain gaming technology.
