Corporate Traveller: Travel Expenses Made Easy in Bitcoin!
UK travelers can now pay their travel expenses with Bitcoin! Corporate Traveller – the major travel management company in the UK announced a partnership with BitPay, which allows travelers to pay in cryptocurrency according to the press release on 15 April.
Despite the bearish price trend of Bitcoin, Corporate Traveller still remains positive on the prospect of crypto payments. Bitcoin can be directly converted into British Pounds, and BitPay is charging a 1% commission for the conversion which is much cheaper than the commission fee of credit card payments.
Andy Hegley, the U.K. General Manager at Corporate Traveller highlights the cooperation with BitPay is a result of surging customer demand in the UK. He added “We identified an increasing demand from our clients for the option to pay in bitcoin for business travel bookings made by our travel consultants. We chose BitPay to manage our merchant processing because they make it easy and handle the entire process of getting the Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash from the customer and depositing cash into our account”.
Key players in the travel industry started to accept crypto payments as well. For example, the German National Tourist Board made an announcement on March 2018 that it will accept crypto payments for its services.
