Bluzelle Launch Looms as Decentralized Storage Goes Mainstream

Bluzelle, the decentralized data storage platform, is preparing for the launch of its mainnet on February 3, ushering in a new era for censorship-resistant data storage. Blockchain technology enables decentralized applications to have the ability to systematically change many aspects of the financial, technical, and economic infrastructure, and with the launch of Bluzelle’s mainnet, app users and developers will have an opportunity to access reliable distributed storage with low latency and guaranteed access.

Fast, Censorship-Resistant, and Decentralized Data Storage

When it comes to censorship resistance and decentralization – two of the main factors driving the utility of the Bluzelle platform – traditional data storage companies are disincentivized to offer these options. With the increased crackdown by big tech seen across the spectrum, a system that turns the traditional data storage and management industry on its head is needed, which is precisely what Bluzelle plans to do.

Developers of decentralized applications (dApps) will now have the opportunity to securely store and access their data in a decentralized manner, increasing security and decreasing the potential for data loss by eliminating a single point of failure. This also means that no single entity can decide on the outcome of another entity’s work, enhancing censorship-resistance across any applicable company or industry that utilizes Bluzelle’s decentralized data storage options.

Pinpointing Success Through Past Trials

Some blockchain projects, eager for self-promotion and raise capital for their founders and investors, release a mainnet as quickly as possible to suck the value dry from its ecosystem and users as fast as they can. Bluzelle wants to set itself up for long term success and provide its services deep into the future, so the project took its time before finally determining it was 100 percent ready to go live.

In 2020, Bluzelle launched two incentivized testnets, one in July and one in December, with the goal of stress testing the network to its highest capacity and making sure any potential bugs and vulnerabilities in the platform were taken care of before the mainnet launch. As a platform distinctly focused on decentralization and returning authority to stakeholders, Bluzelle chose more than 200 different validators to participate in this testing phase.

Stay Tuned for Future Offerings

The launch of the Bluzelle mainnet is one of the most significant milestones the team behind the project has accomplished to date. However, there is still a lot of work and progress to be made for Bluzelle to reach its full potential as a decentralized storage platform. Originally built on Ethereum, the smart contract platform that runs the majority of decentralized finance (defi) applications, Bluzelle plans to expand to the Polkadot ecosystem to create additional decentralized data storage offerings.

Once Bluzelle is fully integrated into Polkadot, it will offer all of its services to any project built on Polkadot’s Substrate framework and to any of the other bridged blockchain projects accessible via Polkadot. Bluzelle has already begun partnering with Polkadot-based projects such as Equilibrium, MANTRA DAO, and Phala Network, and plans to explore new mutually beneficial relationships continually.
