Circle Gateway Adds cirBTC and EURC Unified Balance Support
Circle says Gateway now supports cirBTC and EURC alongside USDC, extending unified balances and crosschain access across supported networks.
Circle said on Oct. 23, 2026, that its Gateway infrastructure now supports Circle Wrapped Bitcoin (cirBTC) and EURC alongside USDC, expanding unified crosschain balances to more Circle-issued assets. The change is intended to let developers and businesses deploy liquidity where it is needed without keeping separate inventory on each network.
Evidence and context
In the company’s announcement, Circle said users can hold one unified balance per asset across cirBTC, EURC and USDC, with crosschain access available in under 500 milliseconds after deposit finalization. The company framed the update as an extension of Circle Interop, which already uses Gateway’s crosschain messaging for asset transfers and liquidity coordination.
Circle said the new support covers cirBTC on Arc and Ethereum, and EURC on Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana and World Chain. It also said that, after a deposit finalizes, the balance becomes available for crosschain access on supported chains. The company described cirBTC as an institutional-grade wrapped BTC product and said it can natively mint cirBTC and EURC on supported destination chains because Circle issues both assets.
The announcement also cited operational uses such as exchange withdrawals, customer payouts and trading orders that may need to settle on a chain different from the one holding inventory. Circle said the unified-balance model is designed to reduce forecasting, pre-positioning and rebalancing across fragmented pools.
For developers, Circle said the expansion works through the same Gateway contracts, APIs and SDKs used for USDC, including Unified Balance Kit support for balance, deposit, transfer and withdrawal workflows. The company said Gateway has processed over $10 billion in volume, as of Oct. 23, 2026, based on internal Gateway data.
Circle also disclosed fee terms tied to the launch. On Arc, Gateway fees for cirBTC and EURC are waived at launch. Outside Arc, the fee rate is 1 basis point for cirBTC and EURC, compared with 0.5 basis points for USDC, according to the company.
The release builds on earlier Circle Interop announcements. Circle said on Sept. 21, 2026, that cirBTC was live on Arc, and on Sept. 9, 2026, that Gateway balances could be funded up to 40 times faster with Fast Deposit. Those disclosures are related but separate from the new cirBTC and EURC balance support.
Circle included risk and product limitations in the announcement. It said Gateway is non-custodial, that deposit times vary by chain and network conditions, that permissionless withdrawals are subject to a seven-day delay, and that features may be modified, delayed or discontinued. The company also said time and fee estimates are not guaranteed.
