One of the largest financial news portals in China, Sina Finance has enabled cryptocurrency tracking to its mobile app, as revealed by the tweet of cnLedger.

As seen in Exhibit 1, the new index provides data for several major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), XRP, and Ethereum (ETH). The new feature is currently available on the company’s mobile app only as reported by technode.

China has banned initial coin offering and shut down cryptocurrency exchanges since late 2017. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in China added cryptocurrency mining into its revised list of industrial activities under the “elimination” category.

Earlier on 7 May, the major social app giant in China Wechat updated its payment policy banning merchant involved in any token issuance, fundraising or crypto trading activities.
