Microsoft developing Web3 wallet for Edge browser
Microsoft is reportedly creating a Web3 wallet for its Edge browser that supports both cryptocurrencies and NFTs. The wallet is said to be noncustodial, with no access to passwords or recovery keys, and will feature integration with crypto exchange Coinbase and Web3 infrastructure firm MoonPay.
Polygon Launches Web3 .polygon Domains with Unstoppable Domains
Polygon and Unstoppable Domains have partnered to offer the ability to create Web3 .polygon domain names, enabling users to log into Web3 applications, use human-readable wallet addresses, and create decentralized websites. The service will be available to an estimated 180 million users and 40,000 services across the Polygon blockchain ecosystem. Unstoppable Domains makes use of Polygon to mint decentralized domains with zero gas fees. Users will be able to use .polygon domains to create digital identities that are compatible across 750 applications, games and metaverse platforms, as well as to login to web apps, act as cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and create decentralized websites.
Nissan Expands Web3 Efforts with Trademarks and Metaverse Auto Sales
Nissan has filed four new Web3-related trademarks in the US and is experimenting with auto sales in the metaverse in Japan. The trademarks cover its Infiniti, Nismo, and Nissan brands and include plans for virtual goods and a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace. Nissan Japan is conducting a three-month "demonstration experiment" of its virtual store "Nissan Hype Lab," allowing customers to "study, consult, test drive and purchase Nissan vehicles" while in the metaverse. The company's moves are in line with other car manufacturers, including General Motors and Ford, who have also been actively filing trademark applications for Web3, crypto, NFTs, and the metaverse.
Heterosis Launches Dynamic NFT Flower Collection
Snark.art and OG.Art's Heterosis project has launched a collection of dynamic NFT flowers that can be bred and customized by users. The project creates two virtual flower markets and is housed in a metaverse greenhouse that can be accessed via various devices.

Binance Charity Donates $100,000 in Georgia to Empower Women through Web3 Education
In celebration of International Women's Day, Binance Charity, the philanthropic arm of Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency and blockchain infrastructure provider, has announced a $100,000 donation to Georgia's Innovation & Technology Agency (GITA) to support web3 education and training. As a result of the partnership, more than 100 women will be able to study professional courses in Web3 and get support to move into the job market.

Multinational Corporations Continue to File Trademarks in Web3, NFTs, and Metaverse
Multinational corporations, including General Motors, Lacoste, and Walmart, have continued to file trademark applications in Web3, NFTs, and the metaverse, despite the broader market downturn. In February alone, General Motors filed for two new trademark applications covering Chevrolet and Cadillac brands, while Lacoste filed five trademark applications for "CHAMPS-ELYSEES." Walmart also filed trademark applications for the "SamsClub" name and logo. Even amid the bear market, record numbers of trademark applications have been filed for NFTs, metaverse, and crypto-related products in 2022.
