First of Many? Blockchain-enabled Notary Is Now in Beijing!

The Beijing CITIC Notary Office launched the first blockchain-enabled notary in Beijing, as revealed by local media People on 19 April. “Blockchain-based notarization has both the value of notarization and legal significance of blockchain certification.” Said Wang Mingliang, the Director of the Beijing CITIC Notary Office. The blockchain-based solution allows certificate holders to verify the information of notary documents by scanning QR code. This helps preventing fraudsters to take advantage of informational asymmetries and mitigate the risks of forged documents.
