JD.com Topped Alibaba and Tencent in "Global Blockchain Patent Strength"

As reported by Securities Daily News on 20 May, the Intellectual Property Center of China information and Communication indicates that Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com ranked first for the “global blockchain patent strength” which they had filed over 200 blockchain patents.
As reported by Securities Daily News on 20 May, the Intellectual Property Center of China information and Communication indicates that Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com ranked first for the “global blockchain patent strength” which they had filed over 200 blockchain patents.
The report also noted that the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba also applied for 262 blockchain patents, whereas Tencent and Baidu applied for 80 and 50 blockchain patents respectively.
The Intellectual Property Center of China information and Communication commented that the government should enhance its supervision on blockchain patents as intellectual property infringements have been an common issue in China. Blind investment in the field and low-value patents are the other key challenges for Chinese blockchain patent applicants.
