Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOOD) has unveiled its operating data for February 2025, highlighting significant developments in customer growth and trading volumes. The report, which excludes figures from the recent acquisition of TradePMR and futures trading volumes, offers insights into the company's performance over the past month.
Customer and Asset Growth
As of the end of February, Robinhood reported a total of 25.6 million funded customer accounts, marking an increase of approximately 150,000 from the previous month and a substantial rise of 2 million compared to the same period last year. The company’s Assets Under Custody (AUC) reached $187 billion, a decrease of 8% from January 2025 but a notable 58% increase year-over-year.
Net deposits for February were recorded at $4.8 billion, translating to a 28% annualized growth rate relative to January's AUC. Over the past twelve months, net deposits amounted to $53.5 billion, reflecting a 45% annual growth rate compared to February 2024.
Trading Volume Insights
Robinhood's trading metrics revealed varied trends across different asset classes. Equity notional trading volumes stood at $142.9 billion, slightly down by 1% from the previous month but up by 77% year-over-year. Options contracts traded totaled 165.6 million, maintaining a similar monthly decrease but rising 39% compared to February 2024.
Notably, crypto trading volumes experienced a significant year-over-year surge of 122%, reaching $14.4 billion, despite a 29% decline from January 2025. Margin balances increased by 5% month-over-month to $8.7 billion, marking a 129% rise from the previous year.
Revenue and Financial Highlights
Robinhood's total cash sweep balances remained stable at $26.2 billion, reflecting a 45% increase from the previous year. The company's securities lending revenue for February was $22 million, down 12% from January but up 69% year-over-year.
The company continues to focus on expanding its product offerings and enhancing customer experience, as evidenced by the recent acquisition of TradePMR, which added approximately $43 billion in assets under administration as of January 2025.
